Handling & Care Guide

Elite Instruments

Your Elite Instruments are precision tools, crafted from premium stainless steel to deliver flawless performance for years. With a few minutes of simple care, they'll stay sharp, smooth, and spotless — and keep your 5-year warranty fully protected.

Daily Care Essentials

Clean After Every Use

  • Wipe blades and tips with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove hair, skin particles, product residue, and moisture.

  • For a deeper clean, use warm water with mild soap, then rinse and dry immediately and thoroughly — moisture left on any instrument is the leading cause of rust and spotting.

  • Never soak your instruments in water or leave them wet.

Disinfect Safely

  • Use a professional instrument disinfectant or 70% isopropyl alcohol applied with a cloth or cotton pad.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, acetone, and iodine-based solutions — they attack the steel's surface and can cause corrosion and discoloration.

  • After disinfecting, always dry completely before storing.

Oil Regularly

  • Apply 1–2 drops of instrument or clipper oil to the pivot/screw area of scissors and nippers once or twice a week (daily for professional use).

  • Open and close the instrument a few times to work the oil in, then wipe away any excess.

  • Oiling keeps the action smooth, prevents friction wear, and adds a protective barrier against moisture.

Instrument-Specific Tips

Barber & Thinning Scissors

  • Cut clean, product-free hair only — styling products and dirt dull the edge faster.

  • Never use hair scissors on paper, fabric, or anything other than hair; this ruins the precision edge instantly.

  • Check blade tension regularly: hold one handle and lift the other — the blade should fall slowly and smoothly, not drop freely or stick.

  • Have your scissors sharpened only by a professional scissor sharpener who works with convex edges.

Tweezers

  • Keep the tips protected with the supplied tip guard or case — even a small drop can misalign the precision tips.

  • Clean tips with alcohol after each use and avoid gripping hard objects that can bend the alignment.

Razors & Shavers

  • Rinse and dry the blade area completely after each use.

  • Replace blades regularly and store with the blade guard on.

Cuticle Nippers & Scissors

  • Remove skin and debris from the jaws after every use, disinfect, and dry.

  • Never force the nipper through thick material — use small, controlled cuts to protect the cutting edges and spring.

Storage

  • Store instruments in their original case or pouch, in a clean, dry place away from humidity.

  • Keep instruments separated — blades knocking against other metal tools causes nicks and dulls edges.

  • Avoid storing in bathrooms or damp environments; if humidity is unavoidable, add a silica gel packet to your case.

  • For long-term storage, apply a light coat of instrument oil to all metal surfaces first.

What to Avoid

  • ❌ Dropping the instrument — even one fall can misalign blades or tips.

  • ❌ Leaving instruments wet or air-drying them.

  • ❌ Bleach, chlorine, acetone, and abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

  • ❌ Ultrasonic cleaners or autoclaves, unless the instrument is specified for sterilization — and always dry and oil afterwards.

  • ❌ Using instruments for anything other than their intended purpose.

  • ❌ DIY sharpening with home tools or unqualified services.

After every use: Wipe clean → disinfect → dry thoroughly. Weekly: Oil the pivot point and check tension. Monthly: Inspect edges, tips, and screws; deep clean your storage case. As needed: Professional sharpening and servicing.
